The Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC, Tenerife, Spain) invites applications for two postdoctoral contracts funded by the European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant project “Partial Ionisation: 2-fluid approach” (PI2FA), led by Dr. Elena Khomenko.

The successful candidate for the first position will work on the development and analysis of multi-fluid simulations of magnetic reconnection in partially ionized solar plasma,

Second position is for analyzing observational data from the ground-based and space telescopes with a specific purpose to trace multifluid effects:

Duration: contracts are of 3 years duration with possible extension till the end of the project.

Applicants must be in possession of a PhD degree in Astrophysics or Physics at the time of application deadline 30st of November 2019.
