The "Centro de Estudios de Física del Cosmos de Aragón" (CEFCA) invites applications for a postdoctoral position starting as soon as possible. The position, with a duration of at least 2 years, is conceived within the framework of the Complementary Plans (Planes Complementarios) Programme 2022-2025 Astrophysics and High Energy Physics: “Tecnologías avanzadas para la exploración del universo y sus componentes”; an action of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR-C17.I1).

The successful applicant is expected to investigate the evolution and mass assembly of the Milky Way (MW) system through the study of its stellar populations using J-PLUS and J-PAS multi-filter photometry in combination with Gaia astrometry. This framework includes, but is not limited to, deriving star formation histories, studying globular clusters and dwarf galaxies in the Local Group, as well as searching and characterising stellar streams, with direct implications in understanding the nature of dark matter. Ideally, the applicant will show expertise in the techniques commonly used to analyse resolved stellar populations, e.g. PSF photometry, Color-Magnitude diagram fitting techniques, and knowledge about stellar evolution and kinematics. Knowledge on spectroscopic techniques and surveys will also be an asset.
