Early Postdoctoral position in CIEMAT – Madrid

The Gamma-Rays group at CIEMAT (Madrid) is currently offering a ~2-year postdoctoral contract. The candidate will become a member of the team and will be able to get involved in the activities of the group, mainly within MAGIC, LST and CTA Collaborations.

The main topics of this contract (with quite some freedom!) will be:

• Fast optical astronomy and interferometry with MAGIC and LST1.
• VHE astrophysics with MAGIC and LST1
• Participation in the commissioning of LST1 and LST2-4.

The contract length may be extended, especially if the candidate activities are focused on the optical astronomy topic above, as the group has funding for 5-years due to an ERC Grant (2.5 M€).

Activities will be based at CIEMAT-Moncloa (Madrid), requiring the availability to spend potentially up to one month a year in La Palma (observing shifts, test & integration fieldwork, etc). The candidate should be fluent in English.

3. Salary: 33 k€, that will be significantly raised if the contract is extended.
