Descripción/Description:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we offer a 6-month postdoc at the University of Valladolid. It will be focused on the Low Surface Brightness, galaxy size evolution and the development of novel Artificial Intelligence algorithms. More specifically, we are developing Deep Learning tools to detect galaxy edges or truncations (i.e. a physically-motivated size indicator based on a sudden decrement of the number of stars in the galaxy outer parts), and applying those to Euclid data. The chosen person will work with Dr. Fernando Buitrago and his collaborators at the School of Computer Science. We are aware about the short duration of this contract, and thus we are open to negotiate its conditions. Do not hesitate to ask (fbuitrago.astro@gmail.com) in case you have any further questions.
