Descripción/Description:
The "Centro de Estudios de Física del Cosmos de Aragón" (CEFCA) invites applications for a post-doctoral position starting as soon as possible. The position, with a duration of 2 years, is conceived within the framework of the Project "Galaxy Evolution and Observational Cosmology with J-PLUS and J-PAS surveys", which is funded for the 2019-2021 period by the MCIU/AEI/FEDER through the project code PGC2018-097585-B-C21 (P.Is. Carlos Hernández-Monteagudo & Carlos López-Sanjuan).
CEFCA is an independent research institute located in Teruel, Spain, focused in Cosmology, Galaxy Formation and Evolution, and the optimum exploitation of large multi-filter datasets such as J-PAS, J-PLUS and ALHAMBRA. CEFCA develops and operates the Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre, which is equipped with world-class survey telescopes.
The applicant will conduct research related to both integrated and resolved stellar population and/or star formation properties of galaxies, focusing on the multi-filter datasets J-PLUS and J-PAS, to derive stellar population parameters (age, metallicity, extinction, IMF) and/or star formation rates, study radial gradients, and explore environmental effects.
The deadline for applications is 18th October 2019.
