Descripción/Description:
The University of Cádiz is offering a 4-year predoctoral contract (FPI-UCA-2025) associated with the research project PID2023-152609OA-I00, Stripped-Envelope Supernova Light Curves, Colors, and Extinction (SLiCE). This project is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
The selected candidate will work on the analysis of ultraviolet / optical / near-infrared observational data of Stripped-Envelope Supernovae (SNe) and contribute to the development of tools for improving their classification in the era of large time-domain surveys.
The successful applicant is expected to enroll in a PhD program at the University of Cádiz. Applicants must have either:
- Completed a Master’s degree at the time of application, or
- Be enrolled in an official Master’s program during the 2024/25 academic year.
We encourage applications from students—preferably with a background in physics or astrophysics—who are highly motivated to work in an international collaborative research group studying the explosions, progenitors, and environments of Stripped-Envelope Supernovae.
