The successful candidate will work closely with Dr Manuel Luna on numerical simulations related to solar prominences. The final goal is to understand the triggering of large-amplitude oscillations on filaments by jets, eruptions or Moreton/EIT waves by performing time-dependent numerical simulations using a state-of-the-art code.
Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Computational fluid dynamics
- Astrophysical fluid dynamics
- Solar magnetohydrodynamics (MHD)
- Parallel programming
- GPU programming
Applicants must hold a PhD at the start of the contract in solar physics, plasma physics, applied mathematics, computer science or any topic related to the post's objective.
The position is called Margalida Comas for young researchers and it is for two years with a gross salary of 35000€. They must have obtained a doctorate degree between 1 January 2020 and the closing date of the application period of this call for applications (both dates included).
