Descripción/Description:
Postdoctoral position at INAF - Astronomical Observatory of Rome - to work on the development, integration and optimization of software for data reduction and analysis within the ASTRI Mini-Array Project. The duration of the position is 1 year (renewable), starting from March 2022 on, with a salary at senior post-doc level.

A call is open for a selection procedure on the basis of candidates’ qualifications, possibly integrated by an interview, for the assignment of one Young Scientist research grant of the duration of 1 year, entitled: “Development, integration and optimization of software for scientific data reduction and analysis within the ASTRI Mini-Array Project”.
Research will be carried at INAF-Osservatorio Astronomico di Roma. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the project leader, Dr. Lucio Angelo Antonelli.
Thematic areas of the research grant:
• Development of code and libraries in C / C ++ / Python for the scientific software of the ASTRI Mini project Array;
• Optimization of calculation algorithms, floating point calculations, and I / O operations;
• Definition and development of "unit tests" for code verification;• Support for code debugging and hidden error identification;
- • Responsibility for the integration, release and installation of scientific software in an operational environment;

• Support for the definition and review of software documentation (use cases, software requirements, software design, ...).
