Descripción/Description:
A four-year PhD position funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation is offered through the FPI Program associated with the project "Jets, Kilonovas and Gravitational Waves: linking numerical simulations of binary neutron stars mergers to multimessenger observations", with reference PID2019-110301GB-I00 (PIs: C. Palenzuela and J. Massó).
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Carlos Palenzuela. Her/his research will focus on the study, through numerical simulations, of the coalescence of binary compact objects, paying especial attention to the radiation that they emit in multiple bands (i.e., gravitational, electromagnetic and neutrinos). The project is both theoretically and computationally oriented, and will require advanced notions of General Relativity, Magneto-Hydro-Dynamical simulations and computational methods.
Candidates should apply from 13 to 27 of October through the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation web here.
Eligible candidates should be enrolled or admitted to a doctoral program for the 2020/2021 academic year at the time of submission of the application or that are in a position to be on the date the contract is formalized.
People interested in the PhD position should contact Carlos Palenzuela (carlos.palenzuela@uib.es).
The UIB-IAC3 promotes a diverse and inclusive environment and encourages women and minorities to apply.
