Descripción/Description:
Dear colleagues,
The CIEMAT Particle Physics Unit (CFP) in Madrid, Spain (http://cfp.ciemat.es) is looking for candidates for a 2-year postdoctoral position, to work on observational cosmology. The appointed researcher is expected to work mainly on the data from the multi-narrow band PAU survey (http://www.pausurvey.org) in applications related to Euclid (http://sci.esa.int/euclid) calibrations. This may involve developments in photometric redshifts for this unique dataset, as well as theoretical and observational studies for the mitigation of intrinsic alignment systematics and small-scale baryonic feedback effects, for weak lensing cosmology.
The CIEMAT cosmology team has an extensive track record as lead contributors to the DES and PAU surveys in the last 13 years. We provide a nice and stimulating work environment, a large network of international connections with other institutes in Spain and Europe, and travel support.
The official call was just published and is on a very tight deadline (end of June), so please contact us ASAP for more details:

The selected person is expected to join us in the last quarter of 2019.
This position is funded by the Enabling Weak Lensing Cosmology (EWC) project, that has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 776247. The candidate will be expected to become a member of the EWC consortium, report to the consortium, attend meetings and present results to the team.
