In cooperation with the Institute for Planetary Research of the German Aerospace Center, the FU Berlin is planning to provide a power unit for the "Venus Emissivity Mapper" (VEM) instrument as a contribution to the "Venus Emissivity, Radio Science, InSAR, Topography" mission, & Spectroscopy” (VERITAS). The main goal of this instrument is to perform spectroscopy to study the surface composition of Venus.

As an instrument manager, the applicant should plan and supervise the construction, integration and testing of the VEM Power Units in close cooperation with the Institute for Planetary Research of the DLR and industrial partners and in coordination with the American partner institutions. At the same time, the applicant should prepare the operation of the instrument and the scientific evaluation and archiving of the data and provide support in the creation of operation plans. This includes the development of a radiative transfer model for data processing and analysis.
