The Institute of Space Science (ICE, CSIC) is opening a position for an outreach officer to head the Communications & Outreach Office.

Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic and active, with initiative and well versed in current outreach opportunities for approaching science to society. Ideally he or she will have a Ph.D in astronomy or physics with experience in outreach programs of relevant research centers and/or scientific collaborations.

Knowledge of English is required and a direct research experience portfolio will be a plus. The job will include

• Improvement and execution of the Communication and Dissemination Plan.
• Coordination with other Communication Offices.
• Collegial supervision and coordination of additional members of the outreach office.
• Design, preparation and distribution of communication materials (short videos, press releases, etc.).
• Preparation of graphic materials for internal reports and our annual report.
• Maintenance of social media accounts (twitter, youtube).
• Preparation of graphic material and videos.
• Presentation of the institute in various forums (professional and amateur astrophysics and astronomy conferences, industry fairs, science policy forums, science outreach events), as well as in radio, television and print media.
• Collaboration with the institute's scientists for the preparation of graphic material and texts for communication with the press.
